Fathers: Men of Integrity

Sunday, June 21, is Father’s Day.  In a day when fatherhood has lost its meaning and definition in our nation, the Word of God has a message for every man.  Proverbs 20:7 speaks of the man that “walketh” in his integrity. The word walketh is from a Hebrew word that refers to the “manner of life.” In other words, this is not a man that takes an occasional stroll down Integrity Lane. For this man, integrity is a way of life for him. It is part and parcel of his character. The result of such a life of integrity is a blessing upon his children (Pro. 20:7b). The blessing of one’s seed, children, descendants, etc., is an often-repeated theme in the Bible. It should be the desire of every father to leave a Godly legacy of blessing to their children.
